Why Bother?
Simply giving someone a book doesn't mean they are going to read it. There is research that shows 92% of books that people receive are never read. This book is a GREAT one, and once people read it, they'll recommend it to others, but first they have to read it themselves.
Here are some Strategies/Ideas/Tips
- Listen for opportunities to talk about the book. When you hear someone complaining about work - about the people they work with, poor results, the circumstances, you can share, "It doesn't have to be that way - it's not that way for me anymore." Sharing that will elicit a question and intrigue in others. Their solution: read the book!
- Keep your copy of the book with you. Highlight the pages. Put flags on the pages. Then, when you're with friends, take the book out and share passages that will serve them. Bring your passion - and they'll want to read it too.
- Loan your book to a friend you think can use it - tell them that you'll need the book back in three weeks. Ask them to highlight their top three "take-aways" and in three weeks you'd like to sit down with them and hear those and share yours.
- Start a "pass it on" book chain. Ask them to sign their name in the inside cover, along with A) the date they finished and B) why the book was valuable to them. Then encourage them to pass it on to another person who then would do the same in three weeks - and so on and so on....
- Link others to this website for more information about the book.
